cheddar bay biscuits
I used to love Red Lobster biscuits, so I had to veganize them! These tastes just like the restaurant fav without the dairy.
- Easy
- Quick
Ingredients:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp baking soda
- Pinch of salt
- 1 tsp sugar
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ¼ tsp cayenne pepper
- 1 cup cheddar style vegan shreds (I like So Delicious brand)
- 1 cup original unsweetened plant milk + 1 tbsp of lemon juice
- ½ cup of melted vegan butter
- Biscuit Topping: - 1 tbsp melted vegan butter
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp parsley

- Preheat oven to 475 degrees F.
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
- Whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, sugar, salt, garlic powder, and cayenne pepper in a large bowl. Add cheddar shreds and set aside.
- In a medium sized bowl, combined the plant milk and melted butter until small clumps are formed.
- Add the milk mixture to the flour mixture and combine just until a dough forms and no dry ingredients remain.
- Drop heaping spoonfuls onto prepared baking sheet about 1 inch apart.
- Bake until golden brown, about 12 minutes.
- While biscuits are baking combine topping ingredients in a small bowl and mix well.
- Once baked, remove biscuits from the oven and immediately bush them with the topping mixture.
- Allow biscuits to cool for about 5 minutes before serving.
- Enjoy!
